I'm glad to hear no one was trying to malign Jiri. I have bought several cameras and lenses from and although I have never met him, through these perfect deals I regard him as a personal friend. He has hunted down cameras that I have been looking for and I have offered advice on how to do simple repairs to improve his stock. In six years buying on Ebay I have met many delightful and helpful sellers, but nobody like Jiri.
Of course there are a few stupid bloody fools like the cretin who keeps advertising his refurbished wartime Leica IIIc as a rare "double red curtain IIIc" for more than $2,000, when blind Freddie can see that the curtains have been painted. Guys like him will give me ulcers.
But talking of 1.4/50 Canon R/F's, I bought a cheapie for $149 a year or so back, and although the body is a bit rough, the filter ring has been badly repainted and the front element has a few cleaning scratches, it performs magnificently. And my $450 0.95 with a large graze on the rear element does beautifully too.
