Looking for a deep M rear lens cap

I put an screw to M adaptor on my CV 21/F4 and the standard M rear lens cap does not fit. I guessing that it is not deep enough. Anyone have a suggestion on where to find a deeper one (not eprey) or a home made fix?

The standard (current-style) M rear cap fits just fine on mine. The older, thinner ones (with the gray liner) won't.

I made one of these (in the 90's, before Voigtlander) for my 20mm Russar lens. I bought a scruffy Leica rear lens cap, cut a hole in the flat disk part, took a piece from a plastic bottle cap (as an "extension"), and glued the whole thing together with epoxy. I still use it today.

It looks like I have the older style with grey liner so I might have to pop for a current one.

I have thought of doing that too. I may try Ben Z's suggestion first thought.

Thanks guys.

Bob, the CV rear caps are deeper than the standard Leica ones. Maybe a reason to buy a CV adaptor?

I think I have solved the problem, I order a current model M rear cap after having the fellow at the store measure it. Seems my old one is about 5mm shallower than the new ones. We will see if that works when it gets here. Thanks for all the help.

Thank you Ben Z, you were right that the current model Leica rear lens cap is a bit deeper and it does work. A thank you to Canada Post for getting the package to me overnite(900 miles) by snail mail.
