Looking for a photo notebook

Hello all, I've just purchased a hp sprocket a small sticky back photo printer. I'm looking for a notebook around the A5 size to put one or two photos in per page and a few notes. I was going to get a moleskine but concern that the photo thickness will expand the note book too much. Has anyone else done this sort of thing? Was a standard note book ok or any recommendations for a photo notebook.

When I made albums for clients, I did everything using digital tools. I used digital photos, did the design and layout using Photoshop in layers. Saved the files with layers, then I would flatten the layers into jpegs, then did a save as to retain the work with layers. Emailed to client for approval then sent the jpegs to a lab where they made the prints. Had them make panos for me as the book supplier mounted the panos. Clients loved them.

I kind of enjoyed doing that.

Now so much is available on the internet I don’t think I would do what you explained in your post.

Have you looked at any web sites to accomplish this task?

Have thought about doing it online but like the physical printing of photos and writing. Not a fan of the binders. Want to try and make a sort of photo diary of what my family and I get up to.

Done it sometimes for particular projects. As you said the main problem is the added thickness. Not sure how much thick are the photos you print. A way to overcome this is to use a spiral binded notebook with a large spiral. Eventually to take away a few pages to leave more space. Suggest you to give a look in art supplies shops, usually they have many options.

That looks pretty cool. Will try and find one that I can write in but maybe with a smaller spiral

I think a larger spiral leaves more space for increased thickness but I could be wrong!

If you search for bookbinding screws on Amazon (or similar) you will see different sizes with which you can bind loose leaf pages together to form a book.

I have a couple with 120 small prints in them (i.e. one on each side of each page). They are fat but they close, sort-of. When I could get it, I used single weight paper for this.

I've never seen one of them before. Looks like as long as I get a Notebook that is intended for art that there are less pages and more room.

The Art series have more room than the standard notebooks, and the Japanese/accordion albums have heaps of room in them.

You might still run out of room with thick prints, but with the accordion albums you can close them less and end up with a wedge rather than a flat book. With the albums you can still run out of room. I don't know how think/not thick the prints from the Sprocket are.

Neither do I, got to buy some photo paper this week and have a look. Need to see what the quality is like and if I can print direct from my x-t3.

Tha accordion type notebokk is a good alternative. I used it but inserting inkjet printed photo on light paper, 27.1 lb/102 g/sqm . The thickness increases but still accaptable.
