Hi all,
A friend and colleague of mine is getting married on December 22nd in the Wexford, Carlow, Wicklow area (South East of Ireland), and she is looking for a wedding photographer. I suggested I'd ask around on here
Please note that she is looking for someone with some experience, and is willing to pay what she would pay any other wedding photographer (I'm not here to find someone who will work for peanuts!) A proper job.
If there is anyone in the area who is interested, please contact me!. Or if you know someone who might be, please ask him/her to contact me. Please include a (link to a) portfolio and a quote (or ask me for the information you need to be able to give a quote)!
I will answer all and forward all to her.
Thanks!

Photographer.
Not based in Ireland, but I'm sure Guy would travel. I can vouch for Guy - excellent photographer. Check out his work: http://www.guycollierphotography.com
Very busy chap though, as I'm sure you'll understand when you see his images.

http://www.boards.ie is a good Irish based forum to have a look at - there is a lot of feed back on personal experience of named wedding photographers etc.

Hi Michiel,
I can't make any personal recommendations, but as mentioned boards.ie is a good place to have a look, also the wedding forum on photographyireland (http://www.photographyireland.net/weddings.html) is also a good place to see the work some wedding photographers are producing and to see what catches the eye. Some amateurs posting shots there, but also some very good and well established wedding photographers also.
I'm sure Ireland is no different to anywhere else, but if it was me, I would be careful in choosing someone with a good reputation as well as good image making and professional skills, as there are more than a few wedding-warriors with brand new shiny digital kits who see wedding photography as some sort of soft market, and its not uncommon to hear the occasional horror story of things going awry.

I'll throw my hat in if I may. I've done weddings in Ireland, I'm very experienced, especially with the challenges of winter weddings, and I've had quite a few commissions for Brides magazine.
As Damien says there are an enormous number of people now offering their services with a Nikon and a dozen photoshop filters, but winter weddings can be tricky and that's where people come unstuck.
I charge £1650 plus expenses.

Robert, wow those are great pictures! When I get married, I might have to see if I can't get you to fly to Holland
Lorraine went to the suggested boards.ie and found a local photographer, so we are set!
Thank you all for your help and suggestions!
