Hello.I have been looking for a nice late version 2.8F or 3.5F Rolleiflex for a little while in the UK with no luck. I realise these cameras are quite sort after..
I have been checking regularly on Ebay and the websites of Aperture, Ffordes, and Peter Loy..I would be very grateful for suggestions for other places where I may find my camera:)

Many thanks.

I just bought a very nice 3.5F Whiteface Rolleiflex TLR 2 weeks ago from Koh's Camera in NY over the Internet - arrived last week. Changed the focus screen and replaced the viewfinder for a Hasselblad chimney finder via an adapter and couldnt be happier...

... smart move ! I bought my 3.5C (K4C) also from Jimmy Koh, had it serviced by Harry Fleenor and now miss the possibility to mount a prism finder. If starting again, I would look for one with uncoupled meter and detachable hood.

Keh website currently has a few rolleis for your consideration. They have a good warranty backing as well.

I got my 3.5F from ebay and CLA done by Harry Fleenor (still in transit). I won't recommend the ebay route as I find it tedious and need to be cautious.

Good luck with your search and do update when you settle on a rollei :)

If you're not stuck to the idea of an F, I had an E that does everything the F does (minus the cachet) in the classifieds. No bite. If you're interested we can talk.

I have a 3.5F whiteface. It was CLA'd a few years ago by Wil Van Manen and is working fine except the shutter button needs a little lube (it takes a moment to fire the shutter once you press it).

If you can wait a few weeks (or get it sorted yourself) I'll sell it to you. I bought it from Michiel Fokkema on the forum and a few members here have seen it / shot with it.

Whereabouts are you?

I've had no problem on eBay, be patient, and of course exercise the same level of care you would with any other large transaction with someone you don't know, and it tends to be fine. I have 185 transactions on eBay, never had a problem.

You could also try the real camera company in Manchester- very nice guys who are happy to deal over the phone or by email. They don't list stock on their website though.

Yep the Real Camera Co are a great bunch of guys, whom I've bought and sold quite a bit of gear with over the years.
You can get them on 0161 907 3236

Still in Manchester it would also be worth you talking to Steve as SD Cameras. I bought my 3.5F from him and have no complaints what-so-ever. He also often has a few in stock.
His number is: 0161 834 2979

Good luck with your search!

Many thanks for the great help..
I'm in north Dorset, deep in the sticks but I get up to London quite often..I'd like buy in the UK, I would worry about the safety of the camera if it was posted from overseas, would people here do this? It's a shame, Harry Fleenor sounds exceptional and Leicashop.com have plenty of Rolleis and the other people mentioned..
I'm looking for a very tidy Rollei, cla'd and preferably a late version. I'm prepared to pay the right price as I'm terribly untechnical and new to both film and MF. -Selling my digital gear to fund the move.
Thanks very much indeed.

Ask here to see if mr. Klinkhamer has any camera's for sale at the moment.

I've recently bought a 2.8F that had been serviced by him and am very happy with it. Meter is spot-on, the bottom and rear door were aligned (very important to get sharp shots), lenses and shutter are clean. Wear is only minor, although it could do with a new ground glass as the current one has a few stuff marks.

On occasion he has camera's for sale.

EDIT: Have to add, shipping between the Netherlands and the UK (both to and from the UK) usually is quick and safe, and completely trackable!

There's one in the classifieds right now... Whiteface, good shape. In the states if you're wIlling... If its packed well and insured I'd be comfortable with overseas shipping.

P.S. It's not mine, I was just drooling over it the other day.

You might want to check out the classifieds on the APUG and photo.net forums. I bought my Rolleiflex MX from an APUG member here in the US and the 3.5E3 from a photo.net member in Iceland. The E3 had been sitting on PN for months and is like new, I guess not too many people visit that forum to buy. There are plenty of UK members on both forums and you might get lucky.

Can anyone tell me please, is 1,900 euros a fair price to pay for a very late 2.8F white face Rolleiflex in mint condition with working meter?
I would be using the lens for work it's a shame to pay a premium for the white face which I'm not interested in but I suppose the camera would hold it's value.

Many thanks

Actually I just found out it's not late, sn 2472711 version 2 i think?.it has had a cla.
What does cla mean?

Thanks:)

CLA is "Clean Lubricate Adjust", just means it's had a service of sorts.

1900 Euros is a bit on the high side for that I think, unless it's truly mint/perfect. Also, the meter may work, but is it accurate?

It does seem a bit on the high side, but there's a very nice white face 3.5F currently in the classifieds here that's had a CLA and a Maxwell screen fitted that was originally priced exactly the same. That asking price has since been reduced but still a mint 2.8F and in Europe, €1900 may be a decent asking price.

However collectors like the white face cameras so if you're going to use it the value may drop, also do you really need an f2.8 lens for what you're going to use it for? It's a Bay 3 camera so any accessory you buy for it is going to be expensive, and do you know the condition of the meter? I've steered clear of meters on Rolleiflex cameras.
