I'm looking for a good bag for the beast in the photo. It's a modified graflex xlw. The back is a Horseman, all together it ends up being very square and so doesn't fit very well in many shoulder bags. Can anyone offer any advice?

Ahhh the quest for the perfect bag, which of course there is no such thing. I will never the less throw my hat into the ring. If you are looking for something to work out of vs protection and storage, I would look into some of the smaller Domke bags. Your camera doesn't look much bigger than the Hassy SWC I used to own (the only camera I truly regret selling). I would carry it in a Domke F6 "little bit smaller bag" Fit great and I had extra room for meters and film and an extra back. I still use this bag today as a lens bag for when I shoot events. If that is a little to big yet they do make some smaller ones that might work, or if you want to carry extra gear they make bigger ones as well. I still find I like them the best and I have used many. I am also partial to the canvas construction. Good luck on your quest and get ready for a lot of opinions, all of which are correct.

Thanks! I was wondering about one of the Domkes. The camera is just a bit bulkier than an SWC but close. This is a bag to work from, not storage. I think the local shop carries some Domkes, I'll check one out.

I should mention that I rarely use the 4 lens insert that came with the bag. I picked up a 2 lens insert and put that to one side or in the middle as a divider. There is padding on the bottom of the bag and unless you use the insert there really isn't much there but the canvas. I am ok with that, because to me they are tools to use and I don't much care for the bulk.
