Hi, I am new to RFF forum and CV world. This is my first post. I am looking to buy a CV RF R*, and have been looking at product specs at B&H, Adorama, surfing the web etc.

My most frequent used focal lengths would be 35mm, 90mm. For longer focal length, I will use my Canon SLR/DSLR. But I want to use shorter focal lengths on the CV RF regularly too, e.g. 25mm, 21mm, or even 15mm. Street photography, PJs, landscapes should be my major activities for this camera/lens.

I like the 1:1 VF of the R3A. But I need the bright framelines of the R2A (VF 0.7x) for 35mm. If I get the R3A, what are the cons for using 35mm and shorter lens? I wear glasses, near-sightedness of about "400 degrees". What are the major differences between a R2A and a R3A, and other latest R**?

Am I missing something? All comments are much appreciated.

Steven

Hi Steven, and welcome. The difference in the cameras you mention, and the soon to be released R4a, is in the viewfinder magnification and the framelines provided. Consider the lenses you use most. If the camera's viewfinder doesn't provide those framelines, you will need to use external viewfinders. Lot's of info on the CameraQuest site.
