Title says it all, but these are hard to come by. Wondering if anyone knows of any being sold? I'm UK based.
I'm also interested in how the sensor holds up still? All the reviews I find are quite old, stating it had a D100 sensor? I had a D100, it was rubbish.
Cheers.

If you say that "our" sensor is rubbish, go home!

No offence intended, I stated the D100 was rubbish - which I think it was. The RD1 seems the opposite, hence my interest.
Anyway, I'm looking at the camera and 28mm combination. I'm struggling to find any.

Come on, It was a joke - we're quite proud of our sensor
If you're in US there's sometimes second hand R-D1 in the classifieds.
You missed two last week on the bay (R-D1 and R-D1s, 900-1200EUR)
Currently there's a R-D1x @ matsuiyastore, but it's quite expensive.

www.ffordes.com sometimes have Epson gear in, they don't seem to right now, but you could ask them to call when they do.
I don't think I've ever seen on in www.apertureuk.com, but they seem like the type of place that may do R-D1.
Keep checking the classifieds here, maybe the classifieds at Steve Huff too. One will pop up soon enough.

All the pictures in the R-D1 group on my flickr were with a 28mm Ultron. Lovely combination.
I bought my lens from Ffordes and got the body via eBay I think. Can't remember!

I'm contemplating selling mine. The original owner wanted to buy it back, but has gone silent all of a sudden. Lovely camera in almost all respects. The R-D1 haa two main advantages over other camera that may have used the same sensor. The glass often used is better, M and LTM primes outperform most SLR stuff, and secondly Epson got the image processing right. You'll read many comments on RFF, often from other than the R-D1 crowd themswlves, praising the film like quality of the images, its faithful, yet vibrant colour rendition and its smooth tonal graduation.
Look at my R-D1 set on flickr and see if you agree: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ezzie0304/sets/72157624222178336/

@Ezzie: if you decide to sell it PM with with a price.
The reason I'm looking at an R-D1 is because
a: I always liked the idea of owning one for some reason I can't quite figure.
b: I'm using two styles of street shooting currently and I no longer have a camera that lets me do manual focus, slower, more contemplative shooting.
c: I want to go back to using a rangefinder, cannot afford a Leica M and need digital as I cannot any longer soup or scan film.
I'll keep my eyes open and hope
Thanks for the replies.

Want to Buy ads are free in RFF classifieds.
Click on the "Classifieds" button at the beginning of the RFF home page.
Scroll down to the Want to Buy section, click on it.
You will see "Place an Ad" at the top right.
Feel free to open a discussion on likes/dislikes of the RD-1. We try to keep Want to Buy, Want to Trade, Want to Sell out of the discussion threads.
Also- with regard to Sensors: they often go through "Rev's" during their lifetime. They seem to get better as production techniques and internal designs are tweeked. The couple of years in between the D100 and RD-1 could have seen some improvements.
