It is very easy to see that the engraving on the auction is horrible, compared to the actual. It looks to be a fake to me. The location of the seller doesn't give it much credit either.

To be fair to the seller he does say "This copy is really professionally - made and is in excellent condition."

I think the seller just doesn't know a lot about Reids, and by copy he means "leica copy", as he states in the title. I don't think he know that it's a copy of a leica-copy.

I doubt he realises what a real Reid would have been worth, to him it this 'Reid' is just like a Zorki or a FED (which it probably is, in fact), so I don't think he wants to scam anyone, he just doesn't know enough about these cameras.

Not too sure about the first point - his other goods are all obvious leica or leica-copy copies ( 😀), but I don't think there's any suggestion of scamming - these are being sold as exactly what they are.
