Congrats on the M3 Frank! If you shoot with the 50mm most of the time, there is no better rangefinder camera(IMHO). I thought these camera shows are getting worse as years go by. very little quality RF stuff to be seen on the tables, lots of mediocre slrs alla, garage sales in general. Maybe because of ebay, who knows, One seller told me he did not bring any quality gear this time because the average buyer only brings 50 dollar in his/her wallet. Mmm....... even the FSU rf gear was nowhere to be seen, ( one Zorki, Two Feds ) and thats mostly very affordable. Just my impression I guess.

Oh, no! Did you notice that your new M3 has two red dots in the rewind knob? That means it is one of the special models built under contract for the Central Intelligence Agency, with a self-destruct charge built into the main casting, below the loading diagram on the bottom. (You won't find this info in any of the Leica books, because the project was classified.)
With age, the plastic explosive used tends to become unstable, and as a result, your camera could blow up at ANY TIME!
Fortunately, I am specially trained to handle this type of problem (see attached verification photo) so pack your M3 and lens CAREFULLY and send them to me, and I will dispose of them safely. Of course, you'll be out all that money you paid, but hey, safety first!
(Yeah, I know this scam won't work here... but if I can find some board populated by RF newbies, who knows?)

Looks excellent, Frank! Is there a film of something on the filter, or is that just a reflection...
