Loose rubber ring on M5 VF eyepiece

It is hanging on, but soon to fall off. The ring does not seem to slide into or onto the underlying metal rim, so the attachment is precarious. Looks like a dab of glue would secure it. Have other users tried gluing it on? Thanks!

I didn't know they had one. Mine does not and never did

Its a thin (maybe 1.5-2 mm thick) O-ring, about 5/8 inch diameter. I bought the camera used, so perhaps the previous owner improvised this.

I use a rubber o ring with a drop of super glue at 12, 3, 6 & 9. It works great I have done it on my M5, M3.

If for some reason you get any glue on the viewfinder you can use nail polish remover to get the glue off with a q-tip. Good luck.

Works very well - I just put the O-ring back on my M5. Its solid.
