I'm tired of seeing the word LOSE spelled as LOOSE. As in, "I pocketed my lenscap so I won't LOSE it".
I'm not saying I'm seeing it here specifically, although I see it here quite a bit. Also I realize not everyone has English as their first language; I'm seeing this mistake from all corners.
I'm not mad, just slightly irritated! :p
Now, back to more important things!

We'll stop confusing lose and loose the very same moment all you guys across the pond stop calling Amsterdam the capital of Denmark..

Yeah, this ranks just ahead of "definately" amongst the most commonly-misspelled words on the Internets... ;)

I thought it was still the Queen's English. Did Lizzie cark it and I missed the news?????

Oh….yes that’s correct, I suppose times change,
I’m reminded of Mark Twain’s “I have no time for a man who can only spell a word one way”
:D

Im glad i did'nt loose any one with my sence of humur. I like you're comments - their all good! Im hopeing its possible too see some more!

irregardlesly...A start to a phrase guaranteed to launch a friend into a tirade on proper use of English language. He would also remind me that I don't speak English, I speak AmeriCandish - American Candid English!

Amsterdam the capital of Denmark ?? . . . but I thought Denmark is the capital of Belgium ???

(Confused englishman living in the Netherlands - and no, that has nothing to do with "nether regions". Those are down South somewhere).

Erik:

Look at your map: "Loost" is a Norwegian seaport.

Actually, this discussion is scraping scabs from partially healed wounds: In a former life I taught English for twenty years at the college/university level.

AAAARGH!

I have a spelling checker
It came with my PC.
It plainly marks for my revue
Mistakes I can not sea.

I've run this poem threw it
I'm shore your please to no.
Its letter perfect in it's whey
My checker tolled me sew.

I always want to post in these threads, but my spelling is so bad I am convinced I'll screw up and everyone will laugh at me! :p

You should all be happy you aren't engaged to a Polish girl who takes great pleasure in pointing out your spelling mistakes at every opportunity!

I’m dyslexic so it looks fine to me, on the plus side I am punctual

Erik, the What the Duck strip you posted reminds me of one of those new fangled words that springs up sometimes with amusing definitions:

Ignoranus - Someone who is both ignorant and an A-hole! :D
