here're some results from my first experiment with self developing tri-x. i exposed the film at a range of iso 200 to iso 800, developed it using a rodinax tank, with constant agitation using ilfosol 3 9:1 at 7min. the film was scanned using a diy scanner made using cardboard, duct tape, a 100mm macro and canon 5d. exposured adjusted in camera, files converted and levels adjusted in photoshop.
this is my first time doing self dev and all i can say is, "WOW". trix is really forgiving and the results are very very impressive, nice tones, very sharp and lots of flexability wrt exposures. suggestions are much appreciated!
- exposed at iso800
- exposed at 400, no levels adjustment
- iso400, levels adjusted to make it darker
- iso 400
- iso 800 adjusted.
- iso200
- iso800; it's slightly darker but i compensated in photoshop.
- an uncropped version of the "scan". the white edges are due to the cardboard holder.
