Lots of interesting announcement rumored for mid Oct

I'm a little disappointed that Fuji is updating the X-E1 before the X-Pro1. It makes me scared about the X-Pro1's future honestly since the X-E1 must be the winner in volume.

I'm not so into Sony stuff... though I do like the RX100 II and am seeing rumors about the RX10. I am interested in large sensor compacts of any kind... especially a pocketable fixed lens 35mm camera (Ricoh GR size).

Not into any DSLR stuff.

IMHO, there may be three possibilities here
- that new organic sensor is so close that they want it on their new xp2
- wait and c if they should go ff on xp2 based on the Sony and Pentax ff rumors
- implementing something else that requires new hw and thus testing and development cycle takes longer.

I hope so Gary... but I'm not so sure. I'm a pessimist though. :)

I'm also incline to take a positive view of Fuji's lack of an announced replacement for the X-Pro. If nothing else, it's nice to see a camera billed as "Pro" follow development cycles closer to the pro-market workhorse, as opposed to the consumer-grade P&S.

I get what you are saying, but if your Pro model is being surpassed by the lower-end models, then it is an issue.

I've already made my commitments to go with the new Olympus E-M1, but am eager to see what's coming up from Ricoh as well. Lots of friends in the Ricoh and Pentax communities ... It will be good to see what new products the company is planning.

But what about Sigma ... some changes to the DPM range wouldn't go astray.

Though I read they are about to release a 24-70 f2 zoom for the DSLR crowd in the very near future at around possibly half the price that Nikon would probably want for such a lens.

I'am frankly excited about what ricoh-pentax will put out. Hoping it's a FF DSLR

Sadly, I doubt it. The rumor mill on the Pentax lists has been going 'round about a K3 - 20-24Mpixel APS-C model with some other refinements as well.

The real reason I doubt it is that Pentax at present isn't shipping any current production FF format lenses other than maybe the D-FA line and the FA Limiteds. Most of their lens line has been filled out since 2004 in the DA series lenses, which are optimized for APS-C.

But if it happens, bravo! A lot of Pentaxians will celebrate, and I know of one who will prepare to dine on his hat (a long long running joke amongst one group of Pentax folks... ;-).

Yeah.. There was a rumor about three months ago about sigma announcing something for their foveon line by end of the year. No updates on that rumor for quite awhile... :(

Panasonic gm1 rumor

Rumors for October announcements are flying. Gotta wonder which are going to become real. I posted about the Fuji x70 rumor on the Fuji fixed forum.. Now today I read this,,

http://www.mirrorlessrumors.com/pan...-x-e2-and-a-second-fuji-camera-on-october-18/

A csc camera that is not going to be any bigger then the Sony rx100. Comes w/ a new 12-32 pancake zoom. And electronic shutter ONLY..

The thing people fail to realize about these type of cameras is that the lenses stick out too much for real pocketability.

What about a digital BW body? That would be more interesting than FF for me. Or is Leica the only one who is brave enough? Of course they can charge a premium price, so that reduces their risk.

Cheers,
Kirk
