I was poking around on ebay looking at rolleicords, when I discovered that there seems to be a huge amount of rollei 35 on there lately, due in large part to this guy-

With that many 35's listed, the prices may be depressed some- it may be a good time to pick up one of the little gems.

Edit-
Doe, I pasted the wrong link, but two posts down now is the right one-
however I'll leave the wrong link above for anyone who has a dim rolleicord viewfinder..

Yes, the link I posted was something I bought, I don't know what I did wrong, however, Wayne got it right, hard to miss.

The link I posted will be the subject of another thread though- I hope that screen works ok..

I suppose I could have cut and pasted something worse- at least it was sort of related to rollei!

Yep, already did!

Got a recently CLA'd chrome 35 S :)

Unlike the majority, I think this camera looks better in chrome. Don't you guys agree?

Have had chrome, black, silver, and platinum 35S cameras. Like the black the most.

I think this is true of most older cameras and lenses. That is, that their popularity and high/low prices seem to be cyclical.

How much would you pay (max) for a 35S? I'm looking for a compact body for shooting colour film along with my leica...

On Ebay currently, completed listings shows a number of Rollei 35S exotica with successful auction closes at $600-2000, but I would pay that for a 35S shooter. The biggest batch of auction closes run in the $175-$300 range—I'd pay in the neighborhood of $200-250 for a good, clean shooter that doesn't need a servicing. Try to get one that includes the original case, lens cap, and wrist strap. Then buy a 40.5mm clear filter and tuck the lens cap away at home somewhere safe... :)

I got a Rollei 35 Tessar very recently on the bay for ~$50. The only major defect on it is the film counter. Otherwise, it works perfectly and in great cosmetic condition. If you look around you should be able to snatch one with a killer price.
