I think the double mount caps from Op/Tech are perfect for storing lenses in this bag.

I have also been interested in this bag for a while now. I have one question though, you said the padding is minimal, but how minimal?
The thing is I need a small day bag which I later can put into a bigger bag without any camera gear in it. Thus it would be a huge plus if the bag would be kind of soft and wouldn't grab to much space in the bigger bag.
I currently have a Billingham Hadley small, but I find it slightly too big and way to stiff to fold it away in a bigger bag.

padding is more than a billingham and less than a think tank retro.
it's a perfect balance and the bowery is actually advertised as an insert for bigger bags too! just remove the strap.

So you think it's even stiffer than a Billingham? It's advertised as a insert, but that's not what I would use it for. It would be in my backpack without any camera gear in it. The most important thing would be that I could press into my bigger backpack with it taking minimal room. The billingham is way to stiff to do that and takes to much room.

it's not stiff at all...empty, it could be flattened nicely to fit in a backpack.

Joe,
In your view, how risky would it be to store a wallet and small set of car keys in the front pockets?
What do you use the front pockets for?
I store a spare set of contact lenses, a thin SDHC card wallet and a thicker, folding two-battery holder in my current bag's fron pocket.
My main concern is I use a flap pocket regularly for sunglasse storage. Maybe the back pocket would work for sunglasses?

Me too, I am more than happy with my bowery bag.
Forget the front pocket...it fits a pen a SD card.. and that's it.
I am packing for a trip, and just packed the bag inside my rucksack. That's the coolest feature of it: this bag can just double as an insert in another bigger bag

the back pocket can hold my ipad mini but it sticks out...the 2 front pockets hold a few batteries in one and my sd/business card holder in the other.
i don't see sunglasses anywhere other than your face...

The pockets are the only thing that puts me off. They look small and tight. Also the the end pockets don't look secure at all with no fastening.

the end pockets might be good for coins...or media cards in their plastic cases...
the 2 inside pockets can hold 4 fuji batteries in one and a sd case in the other...or a small wallet and keys...
this is a handsome very basic bag...the more i use it the more i like it.

tired of selling...just made 2 trips to the post office for supplies and then mailing of 5 bags and a gift to a friend.
i like bags and i may appear foolish but...photographing is my pleasure and i like for the whole experience to be enjoyable.
i like the bags to fit my need and nothing more...so using a big bag that holds everything to carry a few things is annoying to me...
Didn't Imelda Marcos have more than one pair of shoes?

TKH, I've got both the Ona and the BBB-e. I had thought I would sell the BBB-e but this bag holds more then the Ona on those occasions when it's needed. The Ona is a stylish bag but I'll probably use it more as a man bag that can hold my X100 or a couple of compacts. Great bag for a travel walkabout bag. I bought a Thinktank Citywalker 10 which is bigger still, but too much for my small Fuji kit so Im selling that instead.

one thing i want to note...the clasp closing system is so much better than i thought it would be...so easy, one handed operation and secure as well.

@Paul
Nice to hear that about your BBB.
I think the BBB is still a fine, low weight, bag. The only show stoppers are the loud velcro and the thin padding. I have to pay a $400 repair bill for my self dropped CV 35mm Nokton 1.2 lens and so a better padded bag like the Ona will let me better sleep.
Right now I own quite a few bags to much. In the mail is a used Leica Elmar-C 90mm f4 (only $175) and so I think today I will go and throw a few bags to eBay to make cash. There is a black, long time unused, Domke F5b, a little Kata, an orange Crumpler and a no name one. Time to say good buy...

BTW, Paul. Your pic from Phil Barrett is fantastic!

You're right Rainer about the Velcro, it is loud. Doesn't bother me much on the street and it make the bag secure. I am considering sewing on a clasp fitting and covering the Velcro like the thinktank bags. I'm out shooting with the Manchester RFF guys tomorrow and think the BBB may suit me better than the Ona. Gonna carry, Fuji X100, Ricoh GRD IV and new GR, batteries for all, SD cards, sunglasses, keys. While it may all fit in the Ona, the BBB will give me more space for any other extras. I've still yet to try them both out.
Paul
Btw Rainer, I've just picked up a 16 x12 print of Phil Barrett. Looks good.
