It's been a while since I shot with my R-D1. Using my D200 and G9 alot these days. The other day I picked up my R-D1 to shoot some posed theater shots. I just love the quality of the results. Everything about it looks so film-like and pictorial (the best word I can think of but probably not quite right.) Here's a shot from the session:

R-D1 @ iso 400
Zeiss ZM 25mm f2.8 @ f5.6
On camera bounce/fill auto-flash set to iso 400 f5.6
Jpg image, minimal post processing

Clean Crisp & Theatrical....Love it-
All the Best- :) helen

Here is a shot of the whole cast. Same session. Same camera settings as above. What amazes me is how good the on-camera flash looks, even if it is bounce/fill. I almost never use a flash on my RFs but this time I had to.

Very nice shots. Which flash did you use?

I use a Nikon SB-27 on my rangefinders. Works great, small and very compact. The fold over design lets it fit in very small spaces in my camera bag.

BTW, the photo of the hottie girl ran in "Time Out New York", NY City's premier entertainment magazine.

Yes it did! the caption?

"Corn Star"

:D

Yes, those editors are quite clever, aren't they? I think the whole caption ran something like: "Corn Star - Vanessa Altshuler reaches deep in Matt Okin's Cherry Hill." - Even more clever. :D Unfortunately, I got no attribution for the photo, but we all know those are just commodities.

For those in the NY area, the play continues at the Midtown International Theater Festival through mid-Augsut. More information and a schedule here.

I also did some more shooting during the play. Photos of your favorite couple and home town slut follow:

P.S. All shot with Epson R-D1 @ISO 1600, 75mm Summarit at around f4. Noise post-processing with Noise Ninja in auto mode.
