Is there anyone using this cheap film? I found that develloping the lucky with rodinal gives too much contrast and I loose either highlights or shadows. I thought D76 would be more gentle than rodinal and still haven't tried it. I am searching a convenient way to exploit the lucky film as it is really contrasty and very thin! I would love to find a way to keep the negs from thinning too much.

"expose for the shadows, develop for the highlights" is the age old saying. Rodiinol usually gives more noticeable grain than D-76, mostly because the grains have sharper edges. Try D-76 1:1. You'll have to experiment to find the optimum ISO and developing time.

Contrast is controlled by time mostly. Dilute it more if you are running into 5 min range.

And don`t try cutting back on agitation.
