I just found Lowepro has some new lines of products

http://products.lowepro.com/product/Exchange-Messenger,2189.htm

They call it "Super lightweight but yet padded small bag:. I have been looking for such a bag for a while. It must be light weighted, but with some protection for camera.

Billingham is too expensive and heavy for me. Domke is too camera man look.

I have order one Lowepro messager bag, Will see how it fit my cameras after it arrives.

Yeah, I paid a lot more for the Tenba small messenger with room for a laptop. This looks like a decent small bag. I only bought the Tenba so I could take a laptop AND cameras through airport security in one bag...

I saw they are list for 29uSD to 39USD. Very reasonable price I think.

Currently I am using a OSPREY SPIN as my daily bag. It has some softshell structure which I find quite good to protect camera. But I need dividers inside a bag.

The lowepro exchange messenger just looks right to my need.

I have received the bag, what to say...

Pros: Very simple and neat design. Nothing more than I want and I need. There are thin (very thin) foam layer at the bottom and back. Enough for daily use but not suggest if you need good protection to your gears. It;s ultra light as AD. and a very low profile camera bag.

Cons: just so so building quality. Definitely lower than average Lowepro products I used. The connection of the strap to the body feels not robust. I don't suggest you put too heavy items inside the bag.

Summary: It's like a simple school bag but have light protection and dividers for cameras. I love the philosophy in the design. The building quality is so so, but Considering the price, it's acceptable.

A friend of mine has this bag and I got a chance to check it out. While it is very nice looking, light and small, there is virtually NO padding for the equipment, save for the thickness of the un-padded material. I had high hopes for it, but I just don't think it'll be protective enough. I am comparing this to my Crumpler 5 million dollar home, which is about perfect in the size and padding department, I think. I'm just not all that fond of how it looks.

I think they are designed for different purposes. I try 5MH before, it's a great bag with very good material and very good protection.

I carried lowepro bag to office this morning and I say I love it. Very light, very proper size and very comfortable when lean against the body.

My daily bag (for the office) is a Timbuk2 messenger bag -- a separate section for files and a Moleskine notebook; inside pockets for miscellaneous stuff, and a large main compartment for my ZI and 2-3 lenses in Domke inserts plus film.

Carried my black Exchange Messenger all day today. Very comfortable lightweight bag (about a half-pound). Three inside compartments (each the size of a Leica), but best to pack it half-full, so that it can mould to body contours and to provide internal room to reach in and grab. Minimal padding. Long, wide, comfy messenger-style adjustable strap to be worn across the the chest. Suits me for a discreet, light duty everyday bag. An easy buy for small money, but don't expect superior durability.
