I just moved my LR4 catalog from Mac HD to an external drive, following the Adobe tutorial steps. Works fine--except that when I moved the (duplicate) LR/Mac HD files to the trash, LR could not find the same files on the external drive.
For the moment, then, I have a zillion duplicate image files on both drives--but the HD has no more space.
Will someone wisely advise me on the next (nondestructive) steps, that will
1/allow the LR catalog alias + externally migrated/stored images to function in stand-alone fashion--
2/allow me to trash the LR folders on the HD to free up space and functionality?
Can't find these answers in Adobe tutorials, and dealing with an unfolding medical crisis. Thanks for your patient help.
