I try lightroom CC to transfert the lightroom app dng I have on my ipad ( LEICA MD+wifi eye-fi pro)

I COULD NOT BELEIVE that LIGHTROOM CC is not compatible with IMAC / el capitain and IPAD to transfert pictures !

Went to the lightroom web and they literary say : our product is not compatible with apple el capitain.

So I understand now why LEICA is not giving anymore LR . what a shame.

all their blablabla cloud, transfert is just talking.
too bad...I am shocked ( how old is el capitain ?)

Lightroom 6 (through all versions) has been running just fine on OS X El Capitan.

I've not used Lightroom Mobile at all, but LR6.6/CC is all set up to connect to LR Mobile on the iPad. I don't know what the problem you're seeing is. LR6.6/CC will certainly read all photos stored on the iPad and transfer them into the OS X environment, regardless of connection to LR Mobile, too.

OS X El Capitan v10.11 was released to the public on September 30, 2015, about 10 months ago. I've been using it with Lightroom since it was a developer only release, about four months before that.

There were some initial hiccups for some users, I think. I certainly never had any. I use LR-CC and LR-Mobile with El Capitan on an older MBP and have never had an issue.

Which part is failing for you?

Yeah same here, LR-CC and LR Mobile work just fine for me on OS... err... macOS El Capitan ;)

I'm sure we can help you figure out what's not working properly. What exactly are you trying to do? If you're trying to transfer DNG files into Lightroom Mobile on iOS that unfortunately isn't going to work as we don't yet have RAW image support in the iOS file system.

However! It is possibly coming in iOS 10 later this year! (finally).

I suspect that's the hiccup you're having as the M-D only shoots DNG files and no JPEGs.

Partially true, iOS cannot generate DNG files but it can handle them without issue. Once imported they live in the camera roll like every other image taken or imported with the device. LR can import them, and then sync them through Creative Cloud back to LR-CC, but this is a little more involved. The files are placed into a bundle that you will have to open and move the files around if you want them somewhere else (not hard, just more technical than the expected solution).

If you use iCloud and import images (DNG included) onto the camera roll in iOS and have photo-sync turned on (not the old style one, but the new one that uses iCloud Drive and does full resolution images) then the files will be moved to the cloud and then placed (as DNG files) into Apple Photos on the desktop. You can then export them "Unmodified" and get the original DNG that way as well.

It depends on what the use case is that is causing problems.

thanks for your answer. Basicaly Lightroom app IPAD does not send pictures to lightroom CC on my imac. all computer brand new, all software on last edit.
Of Course double install both, triple sign in and remove.....and resign
Had 5 pictures synch and then... NONE ANYMORE. it show X picture on the waiting list....on the imac...
How a simple sync could not work properly....
I was looking to developp quickly my DNG from my LEICA MD on the ipad ( transfer with wifi ) then I was expected the file sync on the desktop because I dont want to have to developp all of them twice ....
As I could not do it I am seriously thinking moving all the chaine on PC / SAMSUNG or most probably an other raw devlopper.

I honestly read everything about it...it look like LIGHTROOM is not at all oriented for an user friendly interface....
So some of you had this app synch with lightroom CC ? ( apple product)

maybe the cloud they use is not supported in EUROPE....

Most of the professional photographers I know in europe are using the old version of LR ( 3-4), or went back after trying LR6, and dont want to even approch this CC stuff...

Ah this is good information! I must have just been doing something wrong when I've tried this in the past because I could never get DNG support to work properly on my iPad. (As in it wouldn't let me do anything unless I shot RAW + JPEG). I'm positive I was just doing something wrong.

I do really hope they improve the RAW workflow in iOS 10 though.

At this point in time LR CC and the Adobe LR Mobile iOS app work perfectly on OS X El Capitan and with an iPad using the most recent version of iOS.

The transfer speed between LR CC and LR Mobile is highly dependent on your internet bandwidth and the speed of Adobe's severs. Their servers seem to improve over time.

The process is LR CC ----> Adobe Mothership -----> iPad. If your iPad is a WIFI only model then you must be on a WIFI network. An iPad with the cellular data does not have this limitation. Of course you for cellular photo transfers you use your data quota (if you have a quota). As far as I know there is no direct transfer between the computer and the iPad. Also the photos are not stored in the Cloud. They are only transferred. Obviously one can store LRT images in the Cloud if they choose to do so. But this is entirely optional an not related to Adobe Mobile LR.

The significant limitation is only one LR CC collection can be displayed on the LR Mobile App. There may be other Adobe Apps that can display with more flexibility.

...

To be specific, currently (2016-06) the iOS device (iPad, ...) must be running iOS 8.1 or newer in order for it to run Lightroom Mobile. Older devices that haven't been updated or can't be updated can't run LR Mobile. This rules out the original "iPad". It must be an iPad 2 or newer.
