ls 1000 nikon scsi cable

hi,

had previous post about plug.
now i've found the
scsi cable: '50 pin full pitch-d sub-25 pin'
cable is not sold.

can these be had anywhere?
also is this scanner still a viable one to use?

It's a standard SCSI connector. You are better off finding one on ebay for a couple of dollars.

Not to sound mean, but it's a old cable. I'm in IT and we had boxes of these types of old cables for years, since the old tape backup drives used them. ..Then we moved and tossed them. ...I will take a quick look to see if I have one laying around.

I use "Jaz Traveler" adapters for the conversion. It goes from 25pin D to 50pin SCSI. I use this for my SCSI DSLR interfaces.

Try to post a shot of the equipment. That will help, there are many SCSI variations.

i realise my computer does not have an additional scsi connector.
i'd have to get a usb converter. maybe this isn't really a viable option.
i may have to save for another scanner.

or possibly it may work on a mac. same problem however.
oh well.

Save for another scanner. In addition to saving yourself the hassle with USB-SCSI adaptors, drivers, termination etc., you also get a better scanner, most probably.
