I don't know what lens it is - but I think it has haze.

Were these taken with an Olympus EP-1? If so, that would make guessing a bit more challenging as this gets mostly the center of the frame.
The images remind me a bit of a Summarit I had but that may be because my Summarit had some haze and scratches. 😉 It feels like the lens has a bit of a swirl wide open but the bokeh almost looks too round. That may be the effect of the cropped format though.

Yes, the lens has haze, and the light was harsh, and no hood used. It's not a Leica lens, and the images were taken with an EPL1 with ltm adapter.

well, it helps to know if it is analog or digital and/or what "film" is used.
So, EP1 with non_Leica LTM ..... hhhhhhmmmmm .... I'll gander a guess of a Zeiss Sonnar Jena (?)

Roland, yes, it's an I-61. I made a mistake above, It has 12 blades not 6, and is apparently the L version, not the L/D.
I'm not too worried about the haze, I just have to remember not to shoot into the sun. I might use a hood though.

A lot of old glass was never meant to color, not to mention digital.
They belongs to film.

These images were all color before being bulk converted by Picasa. It's an Industar 61 L.
I got it about 10 years ago with an I-22, and I-50 as a bundle, and the I-22 was the best, but these collapsibles were slower. I knew the I-61 had haze, so it has been on the shelf for 10 years as I didn't want to waste film with it. But on the EPL1 it has some new life in it.

That particular I-61 L lens gives that 50mm f1.5 Summarit like glow to the photos.

I had an old 1.5 Summarit long ago, it also had haze, but the haze was either all on or all off, very odd. I liked the image quality though, hard to compare, as those images were all full frame film.

It might actually be worth the effort involved in trying to clean the lens up to remove the haze. I've used an I-61L/D (slightly different model, I know) for a couple of years on m43 cameras, and I've been pleased with the results. Perhaps I happen to have 'lucked into' a good example, but I find that mine renders with a pleasing character. In my view, a good example of the I-61 can represent a very decent bargain.🙂

This was shot with an I-61L/D that I cleaned due to lens haze. As mentioned above, a decent bargain with nice character. Certainly not good though when shot into the sun or used without a lens hood.

How soon we forget. The IL-61 used to be talked about often, they are very sharp and contrasty lenses. Maybe not a messed up one, but with in normal condition.
