Hi all,

I have a new (to me) Elmar 2.8 that I want to put to use on my M2. I see a number of low-cost adapters on eschmay. Is there one that is recommended - or one to definitely avoid. I want to keep the cost down and not get a Voigtlander or Leitz. Rather put the money into getting the lens CLA'd.

Thanks in advance.

Jon

I use the Voigtlander adaptor too, and I have to say that it does a perfect job. It's very well made. It makes sense to buy one for each LTM lens that you plan to use regularly on an M-mount. Just leave it on the lens all the time.

It makes sense to lurk on eBay and here for a while for Voigtländer and Leica adapters; if you have the time, you can spend a while lurking for steals and saving a fair bit of money on known good adapters.

I went with the Voigtländer adapter as well and consider it a good value in that it hasn't caused a lick of trouble and I had not even thought about it for years until just now when I saw this post. 🙂

You can get a voigtlander adapter for as low as $25 if you look around hard enough.

I have bought two of them for that price, a 35mm and a 50mm one.
