Lubricate helix of Meyer Optik Trioplan 100 2.8

I have had this lens for a couple of years now and lately it seems to have achieved cult status, in spite of, or perhaps because of its simple triplet construction. At fist glance the lens appears to be a single unit but on inspection (and investigation on line) I discover that the hood unscrews, the optical unit also unscrews, leaving the rear end, which as far as I can see has no obvious grub screws, retaining rings or anything else, unless I'm not looking hard enough . The focusing is very stiff but otherwise the lens seems to be in excellent shape.

Does it need to be sent to a pro or can an ordinary mortal get inside?

The rear conical section in front of the mount unscrews revealing some screws (you will probably need something to improve your grip).

If you PM me your email address I can send you a text file of notes I made while dismantling one of these (Exakta mount) a few years ago.

Thanks. I'll have another look. I have sent a PM with my email ( I think). I'm not terribly familiar with the system here. My lens is M42 mount but it was using Meyer lenses on Exas and Exaktas that got me interested in them. The 135 2.8 is a beauty.
