lucky film in the us

Since the demise of J&C, I've only found it on ebay. If you're going to go to that trouble, I'd suggest looking for ERA instead as I find that to be a much better film. Still better, just as cheap & easily available at www.freestylephoto.biz is their Arista.Edu Ultra - re-badged FOMA. Much better, in the end & IMHO, than any of the Chinese products.

Lucky Film

Lucky Film

I use Lucky film all the time... B&W and color in 35mm and 120 format. Readily available in Chinatown near Noodletown on the Bowery. Also available is Shanghai film. Ebay has lots of it... cheap. Both wonderful films with wide latitude at moderate speeds. Especially suited for flashbulb photography. Develops well in HC110B and Rodinal 1:50. Easily re-spools on 620 reels too... if that's your scene.

Be bold... try it !

I bought some rolls of Lucky 100 from Freestyle not that long ago. I'm bummed - just checked and they don't seem to be carrying it. Something about the backing/anti-halation layer - anyway, I liked the glowing look of some shots with pronounced highlights.

thank you all! i had to go the ebay route... i'd love to just hop on a 6 train to canal street but that's harder in Oklahoma :(

those effects sound cool- i can't wait to try it. i really enjoy trying all the different films that are still around

cheers

I can buy it here in Korea for $2 a roll. Timmy--I see OK has another pro team, the Sonics. The 1st, of course, are the Sooners football team since the 50s.

that's true! although i think it's more of a religion than a pro team...

i'm excited about the sonics, it will be really good for a revived downtown OKC. and downtown really has revived, I don't know of many other middle sized state capitols that are the place to be on a saturday night.

but I used to live in Hartford, Conn. when we lost our pro hockey team, the Whalers. So I've been on the short end of the stick before and remember what a loss it was. In other words I feel bad for those folks in Seattle. i don't think this owner or their politicians acted in particularly good faith, so i hope the NBA is kind to them in the future

I'll see if i get Lucky with my recent purchase of this film, maybe I'll take some Sonics related pictures
