Luigi case for M8 with Thumbs Up

I understand that there is a version of the Luigi case for the M8 that can accept the Thumbs Up device.

Also the Luigi case can come in the normal version or the version with the built in grip.

My question is whether the Thumbs Up device works better with the standard Luigi case or the version with the built in grip?
