I've been admiring photos many of you have posted of your M cameras clad in these beautiful Luigi half cases. Then I began to wonder, it looks like you'd have to remove the strap everytime you want to remove or put film in the camera. Is this true? Do any of you find this...well annoying?

Luigi Half Case
Not sure you mean neck strap removal? Anyway, I use Luigi cases a lot, and the case must be removed for film loading/unloading. This is easy with two snaps and the little keeper flaps flip right out of the way. The main problem is where to put the case while it's off. I don't use Luigi neck straps, just the half cases. The cases have a very nice feel to them and make gripping easier with a small pad built in the front.

The strap stays on, the case comes off.
I own two of them. You'll enjoy it.

Okay I get it now. On Luigi's website I see the case snaps in the back. I thought there were just two holes cut out for the camera lugs to come through.

Love the cases, My only nitpick is I wish the back part was higher, just like those by Artisan & Artist - sample here -> http://www.artisanandartist.com/acc/LMBM3.htm.
I think gotta tell Luigi about it ... his leather is still tops, soft and of high quality, as well as the workmanship ...

Another vote for Luigi - fantastic cases which have really enhanced my enjoyment of shooting with my M's. The little built in 'bump' at the front helps grip the camera and I find I no longer worry about where I set my Leica down to avoid scratching the baseplate etc.
When changing films outside I find the case, once removed, is a good place to rest the baseplate to keep it clean.
