I'm having an etch, what about actually using cameraphone instead of ignoring whole thing. I don't believe megapixel story but recently my attention were drawn by PureView from Nokia. Looks they did obvious thing, analyzing adjacent pixels to make conclusion about colors, they realize larger pixels help to capture more light cleaner. Heck, they even mention 6 elements in lens (instead of 5), very smart, Zeiss name is there to help convince us it is real camera. OK, I can be as skeptical as I want but current cameraphones aren't same as five years ago.
Nokia business is taken over by Microsoft and Net is waiting if successor of 1020 (Lumia with largest sensor and biggest pixel count) will be released this year. I'm rather waiting for general trends, what MS will decide to do with [main] camera in Lumias. Probably in future they will make pixel loaded phone without hump to accomodate optics, probably build system around (power grip, add-on lenses). Frankly speaking, [relatively] small size and readiness to use is reason to consider using it...if I'd carry accessories around with me, then why not dedicated camera?
Pictures on Net do show some difference, not day and night but it is there up to some point. What do you think about PureView, do you really benefit from it, how it compares to your family's generic cameraphones?
