...nice lens...
-Noticeably smaller than the already small 20 (on the gf1).
-Faster focusing (I'm guessing due to lighter elements).
-f2.5 hasn't been an issue so far in decently lit indoor light.

Gf1+20+14+EVF seems smaller in volume than my D700 body alone...

In terms of image quality, it appears sharper wide open than the kit zoom lens. It perhaps has a little more vignette, but not bothersome for my particular uses.

Definitely a keeper.

sample 1

f2.5 1/320 focus was on the girl on the slide...
Only PS done was to lift midtones as I shoot about -0.7 to -1.0 exp comp.

Thanks for posting the shot. Where did you find your 14mm? 'Still waiting for BHPhoto to get them in.

i look forward to owning and using this lens as well.

i saw one at the local photo trade show in october but the presenter did not know when they might be available here or the price for that matter.

the lens is smaller and lighter than the 20/1.7, felt a bit too light actually...

it should make a killer kit with the 20 though.
after that it's the 45 macro for an incredibly small and light travel kit.

Hi Joe,
Yup, the 20 is "scary good". I'm really looking forward to this lens becoming available.

Burkey: ...the lens is available here locally, but I'm in Alberta, Canada.

Joe: You'll like the lens. It is incredibly light - so much so that I had to check the box to make sure there was something inside.

approx $415 all in...

I was initially thinking it was pretty expensive for what it is, but after mounting it on the gf1, that thought disappeared quickly.

It's been nothing but a mention over the past few years... we should get together either in or somewhere between Edm & Calg.

Seriously, should you decide to come here give me a shout.
Cheers.

I can see the 14mm (28mm fov for 35mm cameras) as being a great street lens...

Cheers,
Dave

if you want to try 14mm, I have the "kit" lens. At least that would allow to have the FoV. Surely not as sharp and fast as this prime. *tempting*

It's easy to be disappointed with this tiny lens' appearance ( "I paid how much per ounce!?") but then it's the photographic results that count, isn't it.

A good lens for those with the kit zoom looking for wide and small or for those who favor the 28mm FOV.

Personally, I find it too close to the 20mm...hope Olympus will offer a good 12mm.
If I had a 25 instead of a 20 I'd probably snap it up.
