Lynx 1000--underrated Yashica

One of the cameras I've been shooting with lately has been a Lynx 1000. For those of you who've never used this camera and have only used the GSN and related cameras, this is one you should give a try for certain. It's got a full range of shutter speeds, from 1s all the way to 1/1000s and a full range of apertures from f/1.8 to f/22. It has a very sharp 6-element lens that produces images with beautiful color, and it's all packaged in a solid but compact body. The meter needle is visible in the viewfinder and on the top deck of the camera making it a full featured, self-contained package. If you can get one, try it out!

Had one when I was a kid. took some nice shots on Alcatraz with it. Nice camera, got it at a flea market for $5.00

Unfortunately it was stolen many moons ago. I now have a Lynx 5000e I bought from greyhoundman about 2 years ago and a Lynx 5000 I bought from fellow RFF'er fraley about a year ago. The Lynx is a sweet little camera in whichever version you might have.

I can heartfully agree, basing my experience on 5000. Among other things, I can emphasize how nice speed/aperture controls are. On Konica Auto S2 while speed ring is..well, OK - but aperture ring isn't raised a bit over barrel as on Lynx - that's where Lynx gets my points. I'm not even mentioning SUPERB shutter release!

Many camera-heads have noted that most of vintage RF's will output nice pictures and ergonomics (which is personal not common) is what matters.
