Can't tell anything is wrong with that looker, Paul. Your Walgreens does a better job than the one we have. I take my stuff to the closest CVS when their machine isn't down (or chewing up my film like it did on the last roll), or the 'pro' lab in the south end of town. It just depends on what type of quality I'm going for. If it's a test on an iffy camera, I'm not spending twice the amount to find out it takes crappy photos.

thanks, PF. it does need the rangefinder re-cemented, wind-on fixed, CLA, etc. it'll be a dandy when done. i'm amazed the shutter seems to be right on, and the old selenium meter is on as well.

I have a 5000e I got running again, everything except the meter.
The problem is in the switch on the body and that means I'd have to pull the leather to open up the front, etc... I just don't feel the need. Actually, I've yet to shoot it. But it's probably wonderful. It feels nice in the hand. Top shutter speed is awesome. It has better balance than the 14e I worked on a while back. Quite a lug for one stop.
I much prefer these older Yashica's than the Electro's. I like straight up manual RF's. They just feel good.They don't have that ridiculously long stiff button travel or weird haunting sounds.

Pretty much same what I think about Electro vs Lynx. Electro has better, more contrasty VF - that's true. Otherwise I prefer wild nature over modernisation 😉

i have a lynx-1000 that belonged to my late grandpa. i really like it, and still works like a charm, but i end up being more careful with it than with my other cameras because of its history... it's a very capable camera and when lights go down just go for 1.7, 1/15 at iso 800 for night streetlights and you're good to go (as the meter is invisible when it gets dark).
