Lynx 14

All back on track. I'm getting a Lynx 14e. Anyone knows anything about what batteries I'll need?. Thanks. According to info on the Internet is a PX640A. Correct?

You will need RM640 batteries, which are Mercury Cell. You can use RM640a replacements. You will need to have the meter adjusted, or just set the ASA selector to 1/2 of the Film's speed. So shoot ASA 400 film using ASA200. You will need to experiment a little. I am down to my last two RM640's. The meter on mine is surprisingly accurate, once you get used to Both Lamps being OFF when the exposure is correct. And hope your meter switch is working well.

I ended up replacing the light seals, cleaning the finder, soldering a broken wire to the battery compartment on mine. Not hard to Pop the Top- but be careful of breaking the Sync wire.

Is there a site with a guide to taking the top off? I know Yashica-guy.com had one, but for some reason everytime I visit the site it says I need a username and password ...

I just picked up a 14e the other day, but unfortunately the batteries seemed to have leaked and sealed the battery compartment shut. I think the finder could probably use a good cleaning too.
 
I had the very dim (faded) yellow patch RF replaced on mine w/ one from a donor GSN/ GTN. A tech person will have to exchange the beamsplitter glass. This makes focusing works much better in low light--the Lynx's forte'.
 
Taking the Top off the Lynx is straightforward with "one exception".
I use a fine pair of needle nosed pliers for the film advance retaining screw, and jeweler screwdrivers for the others. Rewind knob comes off the usual way: hold the shadt in place with a screwdriver and unscrew the knob counter-clockwise. all screws come out counterclockwise.

As the top is ready to come off, have a box or something to lay it on so that the Soldered Wire to the PC socket does not break off. I had to resolder the one on the first Lynx 14 that I took off.

WOW - really nice photos that you have with this camera!

The lens seems nice and sharp (hard to say jst looking at small jpegs...)
The Bokeh seems generally LOVELY
That picture you have of Christmas lights shows a pretty strange (but not un-pleasant) SPINNING-like effect away from the centre of the picture
