Hello. My lynx 14e IC meter overexposes about 2 stops, but this is easily corrected with the iso setting. The problem, however, is the "under" and "over" lights: when one of them turns off, it takes between 3 and 5 spots for the other to light on, depending on the ambient light condition. As a consequence, it is difficult to read the correct exposure as there are about 3 or 5 "correct" exposures, with both lights off. I have inspected the bottom circuits, but found no means to regulate anything. Is this the expected behavior for this camera or is it related to the overexposing problem, perhaps an aged CdS sensor?. There is only one correct exposure for any given light condition and shutter speed. You can probably get away with 1/2 stop either way, I suppose, but 3 to 5 is unacceptable. I would recommend that you get a good hand held meter and forget about the built in. Then you would be all set up for any other camera that you may get as well. I personally use a Gossen Super Pilot with excellent results.

I'd go with what Russ recommends, as the meters in the Lynx line are getting pretty long in the tooth, and can be quite unreliable. You should also practice using the Sunny-16 method of exposure calculation Sunny 16 Rule

Thank you for the suggestions. I own two Goosen classic meters, but I prefer to use the camera built-in one, just to avoid carrying another item. The meter in the lynx is pretty accurate, if you take the central exposure between the two where both lights turn off, but it is annoying to have to read two apertures or speeds an then take the mean. I have not been able to find any information on the lynx meter circuit, a some kind of voltage divider i suppose. Thank you again
