Lynx 14E shutter problem

Hello, today i acquired a yashica lynx 14e in good state, i cock the camera the shutter blades close but when i fire this blades opens very very slow and remains open (in a star pattern)and closes only if i cock again.
I cleanead the blades with isoprpyl alcohol and no effect, also the shutter buttom are very very soft. what could be the problem??

You should not clean the blades with alcohol. It contains water which can cause rusting of the blades.

This is only a temporary fix but try a few drops of lighter fluid to see if they start working but I would advise sending it out for service before serious use..

the only problem is that in my city there is no qualified people to do repairs on this kind of camera and even doubt anyone in my country to do so. 🙁

Join the club. There are a lot of members. I have a Lynx 14 that worked in the 1990s but does not do so any more. I'd like to find someone who could fix it but my favorite place, Essex Camera Repair, seems to have gone belly up.
Oh well, until a few years ago there was a place in Los Angles that would repair Hudsons and Studebakers. I feel there is a trend here.

I had one in which there was a click but the blades didn't move at all. Cleaning solved this.

I even consider sending out my country for repairs .. but the value of sending and servicing costs would likely be much higher than the value of the camera and I do not have much money. It is very difficult to find in my country equipment with decent price.

It is sad because it is the first rangefinder to buy and is not good, really sad.

shogoki, where are you? The Lynx is a mechanical camera that any real camera technician should be able to service; perhaps you can get service nearby.

For what it's worth, all my Yashica rangefinder cameras have needed service and all have been terrific with that service.
