lynx 5000

Hi, ive got a Lynx 5000 which wasnt working when i bought it :bang: , before i attempt to fix it, is the film advance lever supposed to make the same "click" as the GSNs do as you start to wind on?

I don't recall such a click with my 5000.

Dunno if that would be any different for the 5000e, which one did you get?

hi, kim-thanks for the manual! saved me £10! rogue-its the 5000, i suppose ill just have to take it apart and have alook for the remains of "the pad of death!"😱

AFAIR, there is no "pad of death" in the 5000. It's a fairly basic mechanical shutter. The POD is in the later "electronic" Yash's "G" series.

Kims right. No pad to fail, no clunk to hear. These are very nice cameras..

My Lynx 5000 was a very quiet click for the shutter release and NO cluck
on rewind.

I just tried my Lynx 5000E film wind. There was no click, just a smooth wind as it pulled film off of the supply spool. The shutter was a very quiet click. I never have had batteries in it. I bought it at a flea market about two years ago. I tried all of the shutter speeds and they seem to work ok. I have just put a roll of film in it to try it out. I took the battery cover off of the camera and looked in. The negative contact at the bottom of the battery holder has green battery leakage residue on it. That is probably why I found it at the flea market. I don't have an idea if it is worth taking apart to attempt a fix or not. Kim, got any idea's?
