Lytro Illum - looks quite interesting

It seems to me a bit like a solution looking for a problem. Unfortunately, the examples on the linked site don't strike me as very inspiring, so my reaction is to just wait and see.

On the other hand, that angled body layout looks very nice. I wonder if someone else will steal it for a conventional camera?

look at the new Sigma Quattro. It's somewhat angled.

I see what you mean. The thing about the Illium is that the back of the camera is angled up at something like 45 degrees, so a nice eyelevel/waistlevel handling alternative.

I'm interested in getting one of these things on hand to play with in the future. However, without a viewfinder, its a good thing you can change focus after the fact. I'm willing to bet that locking a dead on focus with that LCD in broad daylight is nearly impossible.

More than anything, I would use this for television/commercial production. What used to be done with an array of 30+ cameras can now be somewhat emulated with one camera and a snapshot.
