I have a couple of questions for which I'd be grateful for replies.

a) the M Handgrip - the one that's just over half-length, i.e. not the new M8 full-length model. Obviously there's the official Leica model. Is a third-party independent alternative, in the way that Tom A's RapidWinder exists as an alternative to the Leicavit?

b) the Stammbaum (family tree) poster. I have a couple of these daing back to the 80s or early 90s - bought s/h on that auction site, and not in good condition. I don't think I've seen more recent versions. Does Leica still publish it? If so, is it available anywhere else other than actually at the shop at Solms?

Well Tom, I don't know about the posters, but there is a lot written about the grips. I have a GMP/Photp Equip one myself. All metal. I like it, but not everybody does. It is sturdier than the Leica one because the Leicca grip is partly plastic.

Tom,
photo equip makes grip for M8, called MD grip IIRC. It's a full length model and available directly from them or from popflash.photo.

I just ordered a grip for my M6 from popflash several days ago. After two weeks using my M6, I decided to get a grip cause several times I accidentally pressed the lens release button when carrying/holding the camera in my hand.
