M hand grip vs half-case with built-in grip

I have small hand and now having problem about camera shake. Yes, I am trying many ways as I can find the tips from internet. Now I am considering between M hand grip and a half-case with built-in grip. Just wonder that does it help?

M grip may make my MP much bigger while half-case with grip may not help me hold camera firmly.

Anyone has ever compare it before?

I use both Luigi half cases with grip, and Leica Motor M with grip as well as the plain Leica Grip. The motor grip probably gives the best handling, and the extra weight helps with camera shake. Luigi half case with grip is second best for handling, plus it gives the camera a good protection against bumps. The plain grip is the least helpful, but comes handy if you shoot one handed or use vertical framing a lot.

It's very personal of course. A case is inconvenient if you have to change SD cards or battery in the field. So I only use it for additional protection, on the motorcycle or in the plane.

I very often use my RRS grip, I can warmly recommend it. It does make the camera more steady, makes it easy to put on a tripod, and gives quick access to card and battery - just one thing to hold when the camera is open.

I agree that adding more mass is the best way to reduce shake. Another option besides the motor drive would be to add the Abrahamsson Rapid Winder. That will give both additional mass and a greater surface area. You can also add an Abrahamssohn grip, which will fit on the Rapid Winder, adding more mass and more gripping surface.

I own several Luigi half-cases. They are nice for protecting the camera, and nice to hold, but taking them off to change film is a nuisance. And they won't reduce shake as well as adding mass.
