M-Leica pressure plate?

Hi,

Does anybody know which material is the pressure made of? Is it aluminium?

It depends on your model though... The earliest M3 DS's had glass pressure plates. Switched to metal to avoid marks caused by static electricity build up in cold weather.

Some sources state that the early M3's had a ceramic pressure plate. In actual use there doesn't seem to be any difference between the plates.
