Hi,
Found this old thread searching for a lens. Hope you don't mind me adding one more post.
Some of you have some incredible lists of equipment.
My list in order of purchase:
85mm Summerex f/1.5
M6 Chrome
35mm Summilux f/1.4
Had this set up for a long time and took many pix.
Later I added:
M6 Black with .85 viewfinder (1990s)
50mm Elmar-M f/2.8
I rarely used the 50mm as it seemed too delicate and slow for me. I also preferred the larger .85 viewfinder of the black M6. I used that camera and my two original -and much faster- lenses mostly. Seems like I stopped taking pictures for a while when digital started blowing up. I think it depressed me. About 10 years after that last purchase I sold the chrome M6 and the 50mm Elmar-M. I could not bring myself to sell the other gear though. I sat on it for a few more years while I did other things.
Recently I've gotten interested in photography again. I'm not sure why but I think it's due to several elements coming together in my life at this time.
Last week I got:
135mm Elmarit f/2.8
This is a lens I've always wanted but never seemed to get. Got one in very good condition + case but the aperture ring is wobbly although it works fine. I guess I need to send it to Leica or somebody. Any suggestions?
I do still like the idea of a small collapsible lens for easy carrying around. Now I'd like to find an old collapsible Summicron in good condition. I like walking around with the little 35mm Summilux but sometimes I wish it could fold up a little smaller and was a little longer focal length - thus the search that brought me here; a 50mm collapsible Summicron.
That's a bit of my story.
