I am a R2 user which has the "M" mount feature, of course. If I wanna try the 12mm or 15mm lens, I understand an adaptor is available from Cosina for such "L" mount lens. However, can anyone advise me how does the adaptor work? Do I require to unscrew the original "M" mount and replace the "L" on it? Or, I simply screw the "L" into the "M". If it was the latter case, does that mean I can screw the adaptor into one of 12mm or 15mm lens so that I can save time in each usage.

Many thanks😛

Calvin,

You screw the adapter onto the lens. The lens is then mounted with the adapter in place onto the camera.
The lens is Leica Thread Mount (LTM or 39mm)

As with all adapters, screw it onto the lens and mount the assembly onto the camera. Easy as pie. And much quicker. 🙂

I've never had a problem with focusing and I've used Leitz, CV, Bower and Marumi adapters with a variety of CV and FSU lenses on a Leica M body.

is there any probelm for focusing when screw L into M?

No, there is not. If the lens is rangefinder coupled in LTM then it'll still be so when mounted with an adapter to an M-mount.
