M or lenses?

If one had to choose between a new (or newish) M body -or- purchasing Leica lenses (either new or used), where is the money better spent? The combined price tag of both is quite overwhelming now...

I understand there are some unique arguments when it comes to M8 and 6-bit (but those seem to be less relevant with Militch adaptors, etc.), so i asked the question more generically...

For me this is a hypothetical question because I recently acquired both (M8 and a few Leica lenses) but am still wondering...

Surely the answer depends on what you already own, your shooting style, etc...

It may be a "a hypothetical question" for some, but for others a real issue.
I have been shooting with two M3's. I use a Summicon 50, 2.0; Summilux 50, 1.4, and an Elmarit 90 2.3. These are older lenses. I have been wondering about getting a 70mm or newer /faster 90. The other choice would be an M6 or MP.
Any thoughs?
