I have a very nice half case for my M6 with Leicavit - it's marked "Rabbit Camera" which is coming up blank when I search, so I assume the company is dead.

I'm not going to spend the money for a Luigi case, and Mr. Zhou doesn't do a case with the frame selector cutout. I'm seeing a few cases on Etsy.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an affordable black leather half case to fit the 240 and M-P?

Thanks - the Leica one doesn't get good reviews, and the second is somewhat ambiguous as to fit. Do you have either of these? I'm hoping for first hand experience.

The Leica one is very good. I got the cognac one from my better half together with the M. The case is just thick enough to protect the knobs and screen, and the closing straps are thin enough to not hinder a strap from hanging vertically. And the grip is nice to have as well. The new price for the case is a bit steep for what it is, but the price in post #2 seems reasonable.

Check out Brofeta on ebay. I just bought a case from them for my Rolleiflex and it is gorgeous. They also make them for Leicas etc.

i had an all black sqinno case that i bought from flyingpalm last year (same as ones available from etsy from what I understand) and had no complaints using it on my M240.

i actually traded my M240 with half case to flyingpalm, if you want to grab that off him, if he's selling it.

I'll second the Leica 14880 half case -- I have the black one for my Monochrom 246, and it's a great case. Good fit, well-made, can't go wrong.

Thanks for the comments! It's nice to see favorable mention of the Leica half case, and I;'ll check out the others mentioned.

I may end up needing two half cases - one for the camera, and one for the camera with the Multifunction Grip M mounted (my used one showed up today.) I'm not sure I'm keeping the grip, but if I do I think Arte di Mano may be my only option (i.e. $$$$.)

I'm thinking the Multifunction Grip is going back (I don't need GPS, you can't charge through it, it's synthetic material and the port covers are flimsy) so I'm back to looking at a simple half case. Thank the Goddess - the idea of having to spend $400+ for a Arte de Mano to fit it was making me all verklempt. LOL

I have an Arte de Mano half case for my X and it is quite nice.

I have the Leica Protector half case for the M-P ... And it is just as nice, actually, although not as stylish as the AdM. For me, it works fine and provides the grip and protection for the body I was looking form. And was half the price.

I think I need to check out the Leica one. I'd like to try the Mr. Zhou case, but it doesn't appear to have enough room for the frame selector.

I've also had A&A cases for both M9 and X2. They are excellent, but weren't available for the M-P when I bought it. If it had been, it would have been my choice. I believe they're available from Leica Store Miami and other vendors now.

I have a Mr Zhou case for my CL. It's not bad, but not as good a fit as the Leica, AdM, or A&A cases. It's also made of a different grade of leather which doesn't have quite the nice feel of the others. It's a lot cheaper, yes.

I just returned a boatload of stuff to KEH, so maybe I should splurge on a top quality case?

Huss, I was looking at that Squinno case but am not sure if I like how the snap ears lay compared to some of the others.

Screw it - I need to get something on there, I just ordered the Leica half case.

The Leica Protector is quite nice: Fits perfectly, is very nicely finished, feels good... I'm sure it will be fine.

After all, we're talking a camera case, not an objet d'art. :)
