Hi,
It's my first post here so I would like to introduce myself. I'm quite new to photography and expanding from digital (4/3) to film. I'm located in Poland, Warsaw.

I've been reading this forum for quite a while and lately purchased a Bessa R3A from one of members of this forum. So it's clear that I've been bitten by the "bug".

I would like to ask for a confirmation about possibility of mounting a 40/2 m rokkor on Bessa body. I've looked on this forum and couldn't find a definitive answers. However I found a few articles about those lenses, cannot trace them back, that said there are problems with those lenses on "m-bodies". To my despair the phrase m-bodies is not expanded. From other reading I've done some other m lenses, like Jupiter 12, cannot be mounted on certain bodies. I'm a bit confused🙁

Any help would be great!

Thank you,

HKRZ

Thank you all for quick and great responses.

If I may I would like to ask one more question. I understand, that all m lenses offer rangefinder focusing etc? Only LTM lenses are limited in this regard and one needs to resort to distance focusing? Am I right.

One more thing that I've learned: DO NOT BUY A BODY WITHOUT HAVING A LENS. IT"S NOT HEALTHY 🙂

Thank you

You can mount the Dual Range Summicron, but it WON´T work properly, since you can´t focus beyond 10m. Something collides there, and I guess you can even damage the camera if you try to mount it focused at infinity!
