M10 images leak

If all the posts in this topic are any indicator, I don't really expect the prices of M9,M8,etc. to drop much in price. Offer and Demand. Too many people waiting for a lower price M9 means that those that will sell them to ge the M10 (offer) wont have to lower the price that much, because there are lots of people waiting to buy them (demand).

M10 is looking pretty good by the way.

Regards.

Though I'm not in the market for digital M right now, I am genuinely excited. Holding my trusty M4-P in my hands, I'm happy that the digital M is finally virtually "same size" as film Ms from ergonomics point of view. One day when I decide to get a digital M again, I think I'll skip older models and just go for an M10 in lightly used condition.

It looks like an excellent camera, and which fixes many of the most frustrating issues of current digital bodies (eye relief, ISO, size), while the only regression is the battery life.

But I am not sure I would want to use a camera that expensive every day on the street - it is about double what my (2nd hand) M 262 cost here in Europe...

I don't expect to see the M262 prices drop much. It's gonna remain a production camera, the M240 won't. I think you're overestimating how many people use video in the M cameras. I've been selling these things for the past 3 years and have yet to run into a single person who is using the video at all. Everyone says, "Well, it's cool that it's there but I've never used it."

I think a lot of people are going to dump their m8's..m9's...and even the m262...soon..just give it a year or so..for folks to want to trade up to the m10..just for the feel of it..as that's really most of the reason to buy into Leica m..and it is way more capable as well..
There may even be a glut on the market of these older m's sooner than you think..
And you forget..the reason most people don't want to use the video capability on the 240 is...it isn't that good to begin with..
But put some strong video in there..and I think you will see people going for it..and in a smaller body..well..I sure would..

For the first time in a long time I'm tempted by the M10 to replace my M8. I never quite got round to the M9 and didn't care for the M240 series cameras for some irrational reason.

The M10 though has definitely got my interest - it's reasonably priced if I use as long as I have my M8.

Steve Huff "review"

I'm not in the market, but I'm starting to get curious about owning an M9. My problem is that since I don't own any Leica glass, it seems rather pointless.

I think I bought that lens here for 325 bucks. Here is what it did today:

M240s will drop, but I think M9 will hold just fine, and you can see why.

The M10 achievement can't be overstated if reports about it's ISO 6400 performance are true. That is huge. Big OVF, nice EVF and LV tools, and M6 footprint. Already DPR who hated the M9 are drooling over the M10.

It's about to be splashed across the media with accolades while the ugly bloated Canikons knash their teeth in the shadows LOL

Even the new NEX-like medium format things from Fuji and Hassie will suffer from stolen thunder. The M10 is too sexy, sorry fuji 😉

Anyone care to guess the 2017 "camera of the year"?

I think Leica has a winner here! The M10 is the first digital Leica I consider getting: the eye relief, ISO dial, lower noise at higher ISO and thinner body are big improvement.

Now, if they would release an updated Monochrome with an ISO dial and thinner body, I'd get one in a heart beat! What do you think are the odds?

It could be that the new sensor is so good that uncompressed DNG files have become less needed.

If the sensor is so good, uncompressed DNGs from it would be even better!

All joking aside, I'm curious as to why this was done.

Leica Sofort. Sold out everywhere. The people have spoken.

Anyway, no-one minds that the M10 no longer offers uncompressed DNG files?

I did not see that!

I predict that will not stand!

Actually it made a huge difference for the Sony A7r2 and RX1r2 to get the uncompressed files. But who knows, maybe it's OK on the M10. If not, you can bet we will hear about it once the real people have them.
