M2 -- Framelines don't move

I bought an M2 a couple months ago. Very good user, speeds on, bright finder. Totally good purchase until I put a summaron on it. the frame lines don't move to the 35mm position. They move fine if I move the lever.

Does anyone know if this is a big deal to fix?

I'm in Los Angeles.

Doesn't sound serious...CLA from Youxin Ye should get that back in shape. I'd send him an email and give him the symptons...he'll tell you what is up.

I had this problem too. Don Goldberg's diagnosis was: "Sounds like the framelines in the frameline unit of the camera has grease/oil on it & it's sticking. The frameline unit needs to be cleaned, cost is about $85.00."

Is the Summaron an M-mount, or a screw mount with M adaptor? If the latter, is the M adaptor for 35mm?

have you ever mounted a 35 on it before? is it 3.5 or 2.8? what framelines display, 50 or 90? could be an m3 summaron, read this thread:
