M2 has light leak - DAG confused

EDIT: I just noticed the OP mentioned DAG checked the RF light shield.

The only thing I can think of is a darkened room test while moving the light around the camera at all angles, both with the shutter cocked and then uncocked. Possibly even during winding.

It reminds me of a leak I have/had with my M3. There are baffles above and below the shutter opening that prevent light from getting around the top and bottom of the curtains. If these are worn down a bit there might be a bit too much space between the curtains as you cock the shutter. On my M3 these baffles are a brush-like material, I believe they were replaced with a milar strip in later models.

In my case it helped when I advance the film with the lens cap on.

Flare does not necessarily occur where the film is exposed by the shutter. It can happen even when the film is not in the camera, for example due to X-rays at the airport or elsewhere.

Does the leak affect the edges of the film and the other unexposed regions? If not- then it is coming in before the film gate.

Have you tried using the camera in a fitted case? Does that change anything? Would have an impact if the leak was coming in at the film door or baseplate.

Just had a thought to use an empty film cassette, put in a lithium battery and super-bright LED illuminating a strip of plastic across the film gate. Make it easier to find problems like this.

If it is on entire film, including sprockets holes, it is light leak from camera.
If it is only on exposures via light chamber, it is lens.
Isn't it?
This is why for light leaks topics it is advisable to post pictures of entire film, not scans.
