M2 question

Hi,

how easy is it to move the film counter dial accidentally on the M2? It's one of the things that bug me about my Kiev 4. De facto the film counter is unusable because every time I move the camer in and out of the bag, into a pocket etc. the dial moves. Since the M2's dial protrudes more than the Kiev's, I would imagine that it's prone to accidental moving.

I've never moved mine unintentionally (that I'm aware of)

Used an M2 for several years and never had a problem with the counter.

Even when intentional it is fairly difficult to move the counter. Don't sweat it.

In my experience, it's a lot easier to forget to set it in the first place ;-) . Any time I've remembered, it's never moved on its own.

The counter on mine only moves when I reset it and when I advance the film.

Hi Phillipp,

the M2 is the end of the search (at least for the camera bodies), no problems with accidental counter dial movement on both of my M2s.. If you want to try, PM me

I've had two M2's recently. The first had a slightly loose counter dial which could be moved accidentally. I think this was an anomaly as the camera was long overdue a service. The one I replaced it with is very firm and I don't think I could move it without meaning to. So they do vary. M2's are wonderful, no nonsense cameras and my favourite M.
