M2 recover WHAT KIND?

I've got an M2 i'm going to sell on here which needs a new cover. There where too many pieces missing basically so i've taken the old vulcanite off.
Should I cover it before selling? or give the new buyer a chance to pick and fit their own cover on? afterall it's a very easy job.
If recovering before selling should I go for griptac or a more traditional type look.

I recovered mine and sold for a profit, so I would recommend it. I used the basic cameraleather one. It's as easy as applying a sticker to put on.
 
I've used a couple of Cameraleather's products and I especially like Levant black, but I just recovered my MP with the basic leather (4004??) from Aki and I REALLY like it.

I like griptack in black a lot. The only cosmetical problem is that it is much thinner than original Vulcanite, which becomes easily visible. Otherwise it is a very fine (and cheap) covering material.
 
This was my M2 in Wilder Days...which I eventually sold..Kinda Sexy Skin
now I have an M6ttl which is being serviced
though I think I might want to go back to the No FRILLS ,METERLESS way of Life....

I used an Aki-Asahi covering on a IIIc some years ago and was satisfied. I have recently had an M3 re-covered in black Griptac and am rather more than satisfied. I would not call its look un-traditional.
 
re-covering your camera will give it a wow factor so you can probably get a better price on it. I don't think you can go wrong with either the griptac or the traditional cover. You can use the re-cover with either skins as an additional selling point.
 
If i was reselling it Id go for something basic and original looking purely for resale value however if I planned to use it, it would have to be griptac. Picking my m8 up on Saturday and think ill order some griptac to match my m4-p

Not selling the black painted one, this is a chrome one and just needed some TLC. Just waiting for the cover then I will do an ad.
The one you like came as a set with a 50 elmar 2.8 and a 3 element 90 f4 elmar. It's number 233 out of a run I think of approx 5900 lenses. I bought the kit from the original owners grand daughter. He'd passed it on to his son, her father, who had passed away and it sat there in a box. The 50 with original box is as new having had a filter on it all it's life and the 90 is beautifull. Camera is the smoothest M i've ever had. After I'd got it home I found the original sales receipt dated 1963 with all the items on there. I was going to sell the lenses up until that point but decided that seen as these 2 men had kept this kit together for the last 47 yrs that I would'nt be the one to split it.

A camera with a complete known history, I wouldn't sell it either. It looks very beautiful, though ! 🙂 Meanwhile, I "found" a BP M2, not original but Shintaro BP. So I am looking forward using that one.
